The worst taint of all for this facility is the taint of smell. This bad smell can emanate from the wall, tiles, sink, the drain or the bathtub. However, you should pray that it is not from the septic tank because that can really stink. All in all, you have to make sure that you are able to eliminate bathroom odors without causing more harm or aggravating the situation.

In trying to clean up the smelly toilet, it is necessary that you identify the smell. The different smells that you have to deal with in your toilet include ones coming from feces, urine, or even sewage. These smells are musty at times you may feel as if something has died inside there. Identification of the smell will be of assistance to you when cleaning the facility.

You can remove bad odors using different methods. First and foremost, illumination using a wooden match at the center of your room will help in eliminating all unpleasant odors. This is because the match emits sulfur dioxide that surpasses the other bad smell. This is a solution for a short while that will help in saving you from embarrassment.

The easiest way to make your toilet smell better is obviously opening the windows to let the fresh air in. However you may need to do this when the temperatures outside are okay or it is not raining. If you cannot use this method due to one reason or the other, you can always move to another one.

The cud that is causing odor can be dissolved using white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide. You can also light a candle in the restroom. Both unscented and scented candle are beneficial. It is recommended that you should use scented candles that help in reducing fire hazards. This will help in ensuring that the room has a pleasant smell for a while.

In other cases the toilet may tend to smell salty, to eliminate this situation just use a cleaning agent that has ammonia. The process entails cleaning your facility with ammonia solution only once and specifically on the outside. Do not mix bleaching agents with this solution since the most obvious outcome is that an explosion may result and it may cause harm.

Baking soda is another method to go for. It is good at absorbing odors. Your toilet size will determine the amount of soda to use. You should use the right amount and leave it for some days so that the reaction occurs. After some days, you should replace the baking soda with a fresh batch. You should continue with this trend till your toilet acquires a pleasant smell. Hydrochloric acid is a good option when dealing with stubborn stench. You should be careful when using it as it can cause damage to bowls or floor.

Last but not the least, you can use charcoal to eliminate bathroom odors. It is very effective in soaking up odors. There are other methods that are available should the above mentioned not work for you.
