In candles, wick is mainly suspended in a flammable substance. In many cases the inflammable thing that is mainly used is the wax. They perform various functions which includes the temperature and the light provisions to persons. In many cases are lit during the night with the intention of lengthening the day. They provide light to individuals at night when there is black out. Luminary candles help people see and carry out their duties as usual when there is electric fault.

The burning process commences by igniting the wick with a good source of the heat such as the match box. The heat that is brought about by igniting the match box makes the wax melt resulting in vapor production that mixes with the oxygen resulting in the combustion that leads to the production of heat and the light that occurs due to flame.

Fuel that aids in combustion process rises up the wick from the bottom part. As combustion proceeds, wick becomes shorter and shorter a situation that makes the taper shorter too. Trimming of the wick helps in avoiding too much smoke that may be produced during combustion. The flame produced is of high quality. Sniffers which are scissor like are used in trimming process.

Some people like the smell of the scent produced by the burning taper. These kinds of people tend to light the candle very frequently so as to enjoy the nice smell. It has been proven that the waste that a burning taper produces has aesthetic value and can cure certain ailments. They too create a romantic environment to individuals around.

They help in decorating the houses when are placed at the windows as they burn. They get used during the Christmas where they indicate the honor in which Christmas is regarded. They are used by the Catholics for church missions. They are also used to play holy roles such as in representation of Jesus, Mary and the Joseph.

They also play a very important role in Buddhist rituals. They are mainly placed together with other components such as flowers and the incense in front of statutes and the images of Buddha to show the respect. During this period the light produced by them normally signify the light that is brought by then teachings of Buddha. They are also said to symbolize the illumination of Buddha.

Taper is generally made up of the wax. They are usually made from the paraffin wax that is one of parts forming the petroleum. There are other wax types involved in the manufacture of the taper. They include the bee wax, gel, plant waxes and even the microcrystalline. A good wax is judged by considering various characteristics which are stiffness, fire resistance, the diameter and tethering. A good one produces quality flame.

Candle followers are of importance to the taper. It plays various roles that help in encompassing the melting wax so as to maintain the environment clean. With its use the environment remains uncontaminated. It helps in making the taper more attracting and avoids strong winds that putting off the flame.
