How To Seal The Epoxy Pebblestone Properly

By Marla Mills

The epoxy pebblestone is one of the many flooring types available in the market these days. This is one of those flooring types that are often used in patios and bathroom floors. With the said flooring type installed in one's home, it should be easy to gain a zen-like experience even if the person is just at home.

One good thing about this type of flooring is that the person can take this as a DIY project. As long as the person has the right materials to use for the job, then there is no need to worry about the said project. The person will not have any difficulties with it, especially when the pebble stones are already laid down.

The homeowner will also have to pressure wash the flooring after it has been correctly laid down. There is a need to use the surface cleaner after this too. The homeowner will have to do this so that the surface can be sealed with ease. Once it is sealed, the entire surface will be kept intact. One can also take advantage of the shiny coating it provides.

For those who are going to personally seal their flooring, here are some of the things that one will have to use. The person will need to have some face masks, goggles, vinyl gloves, and trowel. Aside from that, the person will also need acid detergent, surface cleaner, solvent-based clear acrylic sealer, pre-purchased sodium hypochlorite, and high alkaline detergent.

Since the homeowner is dealing with acid detergent, the danger will be quite high. To avoid any injuries that might be acquired while doing this job, it is necessary to wear the protective clothing one has prepared. Aside from that, it is highly recommended for the homeowner to wear long sleeves and long pants.

The first step of this DIY project all has something to do with acid detergents. The person should make sure to pour them evenly on the surface. Once done, the next thing to do is to apply an even coat of surface cleaner. By simply doing this, one can easily prevent any potential damages.

The mixture of sodium hypochlorite and high-alkaline detergent will be the next in line for one's use. This should be applied as evenly as possible to the surface. Go over it with an application of the surface cleaner too. The cleaner should cover the entire surface to remove the mold, mildew, and dirt. Let it sit for a period of twenty-four hours.

The person will then have to apply one coat of the solvent-based clear acrylic sealer. The trowel should do well for this. Let the sealer dry according to the instructions on the label. Apply it for a second time to make the seal stronger. Of course, let the application dry according to the instructions on the label.

One can easily expect good results out of this once the steps are properly followed. It should not be difficult to make decisions. The person can easily make an informed decision with regards to an epoxy pebblestone flooring once one has sufficient details about it.
